Tonya L. Stevenson Funt, of Myersville, MD formerly of Gettysburg, PA passed away at home on Thursday, November 30, 2023 after a long illness. Tonya’s last moments were spent holding the hand of her nephew, Christopher Workman, as he read her daily devotions to her. Born in Newport News, VA on April 10, 1971, she was the daughter of the late Robert F.A. & Louella R. (Andrews) Stevenson. Tonya was a gentle soul that loved animals, especially her cats and dogs. She was artistic, her hobbies including cake decorating and painting garden statues. Tonya was fiercely loyal and dedicated to her friends and family. Tonya found comfort in listening to religious hymns and strengthened her relationship with Christ during her illness. She is survived by a son, Matthew Stevenson of Gettysburg, step-children, Daniel Bodema, Jr. of Gettysburg and Dakota Strouse of Lock Haven, PA, a granddaughter, Emma, a sister, Tina Workman of Myersville, MD, brothers, Roger Stevenson (Kathy) of Richland Hills, Texas and David Stevenson (Sherri) of Havre De Grace, MD and a number of nieces and nephews. Tonya was predeceased by a son, Anthony Stevenson who died in 2016. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 09, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg. Graveside Services and Interment will follow the visitation at the Flohrs Cemetery in McKnightstown, PA with Rev. Joshua Bittner, officiating.
