Trae William Brownley, 18, of Gettysburg, PA, passed away suddenly on Tuesday morning, June 24, 2025.
Born November 12, 2006, in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of Adam C. Brownley and his wife, Brooke M. Brownley (Stevens) of Gettysburg, and his mother, Ashley R. Poland, of New Oxford.

Trae was a 2025 graduate of Gettysburg Area High School. He was planning on attending college at Shippensburg University in the fall to major in his favorite subject, History, and joining the Army National Guard. He was an Eagle Scout and member of Troop 79 of Gettysburg, a black belt in Karate, and a four-year participant in the high school’s JROTC program. Throughout high school, Trae was active on the school soccer team, and a four-year swimmer and track & field athlete. Trae very much enjoyed being outside. The outdoors spoke to his soul and he enjoyed that as an avid skier in the winter and hiking and fishing in the summer. Trae was blessed to travel the world. He loved to see different places, and it was something special that he shared with his Gigi and Grandma Becky. Among all of his activities, his favorite things were spending time with his family and friends. Trae and his brother Ethan did everything together. From sports to school to traveling the world, they were inseparable. Trae was the light of our lives and he will forever be missed.
In addition to his parents, Trae is survived by his grandparents, Richard Brownley and his wife Melissa, of Gettysburg, Sue Roberts and her wife Becky Smith, of Fayetteville, Steven and Deborah Poland, of North Carolina, Mervyn and Marie D’Souza, of Gettysburg, Ruth Stevens, of Morgantown, WV, three siblings, Dylan Eiker, Briana Eiker, and Ethan Aldinger, as well as a number of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William Stevens.
