She is survived by her children Ben (Kristen) Snyder of Saint Cloud, FL and Nikki (AJ) Morelock of Gettysburg as well as her beloved grandchildren Bentley, Carson, Emily, & Natalie. She is also survived by her siblings, Pat (Dave) Cool of Gettysburg, Bob (Cindi) Mallette of Fairfield, Joanne (Rich) Hobbs of Fairfield, Randy Mallette (Teresa Schmidt) of Vanceboro, North Carolina and Kim (Chuck) Weaver of Gettysburg.
A 1979 graduate of Gettysburg High School, she also attended Mount St. Maryâs completing partial coursework towards her degree. Wendy dedicated her working life to the care of others as a CNA in long-term care facilities, home hospice, and as an in-home caretaker, in and around Gettysburg. Her patients could count on her humor and to find that long-lost family recipe to re-create. Her imagination and craftiness allowed her to create competition winning Halloween costumes, not only for her own children, but also the children and young adults in the facilities she worked.
Wendy was known to find the best deals, embark on spontaneous shopping trips, embrace the spirit of the holiday season, and to curl up with a cup of coffee to get lost in the words of a good book.
Sheâll be remembered for her ability to find the perfect gift (and wrapping it into a masterpiece), creating and continuing family traditions, making extravagant pinatas, building gingerbread houses with the grandkids, and loving them to the moon and back. She loved and was loved in return.
