Obituary: William A. Faloon



William A. Faloon, 85 of Littlestown, PA formerly of Gettysburg passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 7, 2024.

Bill was born on September 3, 1939 in Oil City, PA. He was the son of the late Donald W. & Dorothy A. (Dodds) Faloon. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Kathleen A. (Hill) Faloon. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Richard Faloon and his wife, Lori; Randall Faloon and Resa Zirpoli and Michelle Hull and her husband, Chris; fourteen grandchildren, Kayla (Justin), Andrew (Madison), Jodi (Justin), Connor, Olivia, Samantha, Ryan, Lexy (Kolt), Sophie, Amanda (Mike), Caitlin (Garrett), Jenna, Emilee and Kenzie; six great grandchildren, Kaysen, Kamden, Lainey, Charlotte, Nora and Colton; his brother, Jim Faloon and his wife, Lil of Wexford, PA and their son’s, Jimmy, Johnny and Jarrod and his brother-in-law Eugene Hill and his predeceased wife, Jeanne W. Hill of Lafayette, CA.

Bill was a 1957 graduate of North Allegheny High School and earned a business degree from Grove City College in 1961. It was during his freshman year at Grove City College that he met his future wife, Kathy and after their graduation in 1961 they began their wonderful marriage of 63 years. Bill had been employed by the J.C. Penney Co. for 14 years in Ohio and Indiana before relocating to Gettysburg, PA in 1975 to start his career as an owner and operator of several businesses. They include four laundromats, Faloon’s car wash, three Movieland video stores, a power washing business, Faloon’s Fun Center, Dairy Queen in Hanover and an A+ Convenience Store in Gettysburg. He was a dedicated member of the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church and had served in several positions including, Board of Trustees, Session, Church Treasurer and Youth Advisor. Bill also served as president of the Board of Directors of Reach Ministries, Intl. and had attended 62 Mission trips in the United States and Mexico. Bill also loved to be on the road in his “Camper” with grandchildren and friends touring the U.S.A.

A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate the life of William A. Faloon at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church, 208 Baltimore St. Gettysburg, PA with the Rev. Caleb McClure, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church Fellowship Hall. Services will be streamed via gettysburgpresbyterian.org and clicking on the live stream feature. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church or the American Heart Association.
