
Born August 9, 1938 in Baltimore, MD to the late William E. Bean, Sr. & Mary (Trojan) Bean.
Bill served his country in the U.S. Army as a mechanical engineer for two years from 1961 to 1963. He then went on to work as a mechanical engineering editor for Honeywell in the Baltimore/D.C. area for 30 years until his retirement. Bill was a faithful member of St. Maryâs Catholic Church in Fairfield. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was a history buff which brought him to the Gettysburg area. Bill also enjoyed taking his trips to Charlestown, WV. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his kindness, smile and sense of humor.
In addition to his parents, Bill is predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth (Hays) Bean; a granddaughter, Dawn Hamilton; and his sister, Joan Cudnik.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Theresa (Sprankle) Bean; his stepchildren, Robert Hamilton (Alaine), Thomas Hamilton, Teresa Leister (Greg), Patricia Hamilton and Vicky Rohrbaugh; his children, William “Bill” Bean III (Kathy) and Barbara Reisen (Eric); his grandchildren, Allen Hewitt (Carolyn), Ethan Reisen, Heather Pryor, Chris Hamilton (Angela), Stacie Hamilton, Whitney Garnett (Brian), and Kayla Whitcomb (Austin); 12 great-grandchildren; he will also be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, 11AM at St. Maryâs Catholic Church in Fairfield, PA. A visitation will precede the mass beginning at 10AM where the family will receive friends. Interment will immediately follow the mass at St. Maryâs Cemetery in Fairfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Billâs name to St. Maryâs Catholic Church, 256 Tract Rd, Fairfield, PA 17320.
