William R. Slaybaugh, age 80 of Bendersville, passed away October 21, 2025, at SpiriTrust Lutheran, Village at Gettysburg. He was born February 12, 1945, in Gettysburg to the late Raymond and Margaret (Lupp) Slaybaugh.
William was a 1963 graduate of Biglerville High School and the owner of the Bendersville Garage. He was a life member of Bendersville Fire Company, where he was former chief for 18 years, a life member of the Adams County Fish and Game, and also served on Borough Council. Bill enjoyed watching TV and loved hunting and camping. He and Bev traveled and camped for 45 years.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly O. (Orner) Slaybaugh, to whom he celebrated 61 years of marriage last Saturday. He is also survived by his niece, Gwen Piccerillo, and nephew, Keith Heyser. He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Heyser.
Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville. A viewing will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 10:00am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 126 Church Street, Bendersville. Rev. Dr. Chris Suehr will officiate the funeral. William will be laid to rest at Bendersville Cemetery.
