Zora Beatrice Handshew, 80, formerly of Mt. Holly Springs, PA, passed away March 5, 2026, in the Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born April 27, 1945, in Newville, to the late William and Hazel (Helm) Handshew.
Zora worked as a housekeeper for The Shippen Place Hotel, where she retired after 25 years of service. She attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Zora especially enjoyed trips to the beach and Disney with her family, walks with her granddaughter, Jasmine, and being in nature.
Surviving are her son, Barry Handshew (Holly) of Dillsburg; Granddaughter, Jasmine Handshew of Dillsburg; five sisters, Janet Grove (Albert), Mary Wadel (Wayne), Hazel Kunkleman (Ronald), Juanita Crumling (Calvin), and Angela Handshew; and several nieces and nephews. Zora was preceded in death by her six brothers.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM, in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065, with Elder Terry Sanders officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 1976 Scotland Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201. Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs, PA, 17065.
