The 2025 municipal primary election will be held on May 20. Pending the results of any challenges to the candidate signatures, which would be announced by the elections office on Tuesday, the candidates for the six school board races have now been determined.
An intense interest in the races is evident in the number of candidates from each party.
Candidates marked (D/R) have “cross-filed” and will run in both the Democratic and Republican primaries.
At Bermudian Springs School District, board members whose terms expire in 2025 are Diana Canapp, Jennifer Goldhahn, Mary Kemper, and Matthew Nelson. The 2025 primary candidates are Canapp (R), Carder (D/R), Goldhahn (R), Kemper (R), and Chad E Klinedinst (R).
At Conewago Valley, Eric Flickinger (Vice President), Jeffrey Kindschuh (President), and Melanie Sauter have expiring terms. The candidate slate includes Bruce F. Wesbury (R), Flickinger (D/R), Kindschuh (D/R), Justin McHugh (D), and Sauter (D/R).
At Fairfield School District, the terms of Candace Ferguson-Miller (President), Matthew A. DeGennaro, Jack A. Liller (Vice President), and Theodore S. Sayres, Jr. (Secretary) are expiring. Only Ferguson-Miller (D/R) is on the candidate list.
At Gettysburg Area School District, President Kenneth Hassinger and board members Ryan Morris, Michelle Smyers, and Jeremy Davis are ending their terms.
2025 candidates are Julieta Booz (D/R), Dale Brennan (D), Donna Harrison (D/R), Kathleen Pratt (D/R), Justine Sieg (D/R), David L Sites (D/R), Smyers (R), and Charles Weise (D).
At Littlestown School District, expiring terms are Jeanne C. Ewen, Alberta Ally MacCall, Janell Ressler, and Steven Yerger.
The candidate slate is Donna J Baylis (R), Ewen (D/R), Rachel Hutchison (D/R), Brian Lawyer (D/R), MacCall (D/R), Ressler (D/R), Carl S Thompson (D/R), and Yerger (D/R)
At Upper Adams, board members Jim Lady, Gerald Walmer, Susan Crouse, and Kay Hollabaugh are ending their terms. Running to replace them are Melissa Anders (R), Rachel Elliott (D/R), Hollabaugh (D/R), John W Lindemulder (D/R), Matthew Lustig (R), Eric Markle (D/R), and Deb Steckler (D/R).
