Penn State Athletics has unveiled game day themes for the 2025 football season, highlighted by the return of fan favorites like the White Out and Stripe Out, along with celebrations honoring alumni, students, and service members.
The season opens Aug. 30 with the 107K Family Reunion against Nevada, the first game on the newly named West Shore Home Field at Beaver Stadium. On Sept. 6, the THON Game versus FIU will spotlight the student-led philanthropy benefiting childhood cancer treatment and research, while Sept. 13 brings All-University Day against Villanova, showcasing Penn State campuses across the state.
The nationally recognized White Out returns Sept. 27 when Oregon visits, with fans encouraged to wear all white. On Oct. 11, Homecoming celebrations coincide with the Stripe Out against Northwestern, including the return of the Generations of Greatness throwback uniforms.
The Nov. 8 matchup with Indiana features a Helmet Stripe theme and Military Appreciation Day, honoring active-duty service members, veterans, and their families. The home slate wraps up Nov. 22 with Senior Day against Nebraska, recognizing departing football players and seniors from the band and spirit squads.
Additional promotions include Youth Sports and Spirit Day (FIU), Agriculture Day and First Responders Appreciation (Northwestern), and Parents and Families Day, Faculty and Staff Appreciation, and Educator Appreciation (Nebraska).
