Penn State announces themes for seven home football games

Penn State football fans will fill Beaver Stadium with stripes, a helmet design and the traditional White Out during the Nittany Lions’ seven-game 2026 home schedule.

Penn State will open its 140th football season Sept. 5 against Marshall in the 11th annual Stripe Out. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on FS1. Fans in each section will wear either blue or white to create alternating stripes throughout the stadium.

The Sept. 19 game against Buffalo, scheduled for noon on Big Ten Network, will serve as the THON Game. Families and volunteers associated with THON will be invited as Penn State recognizes the student-run philanthropy’s fight against childhood cancer. THON has raised more than $273 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital.

Homecoming and the Helmet Stripe will be combined Sept. 26 against Wisconsin. The Homecoming Parade will travel through campus and downtown State College the previous evening. Most fans will wear white, while selected sections will wear blue to make the stadium resemble Penn State’s traditional football helmet.

Kickoff time and television information for the Wisconsin game have not been announced, although the game will begin no later than 5 p.m.

The season’s featured home game will come Oct. 10, when Penn State hosts USC in the 19th full-stadium White Out. The game will begin at 7:30 p.m. and air on NBC and Peacock.

Penn State is 11-7 in full-stadium White Out games. The tradition began in the student section in 2004 and expanded to the entire stadium in 2007. USC will be making its first visit to Happy Valley since losing 38-14 in 1994.

The Oct. 31 game against Purdue will be All-University Day, featuring student representatives from Penn State’s Commonwealth campuses during halftime.

Military Appreciation Day will be held Nov. 14 against Minnesota. Active-duty personnel, veterans, ROTC members and military families will be recognized. Fans may also donate tickets through the Seats for Servicemembers program.

Penn State will conclude its home schedule Nov. 21 against Rutgers with Senior Day, honoring players and other senior members of the football, band and spirit programs.

Kickoff times and television coverage for the Purdue, Minnesota and Rutgers games remain to be determined.
