Penn State THON Dance Marathon Set For This Weekend

The 2025 Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON), the world’s largest student-run philanthropy, will take place from Friday, Feb. 21, to Sunday, Feb. 23, at the Bryce Jordan Center (BJC) on Penn State’s University Park campus. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. on Friday and concludes at 4 p.m. on Sunday.

More than 700 dancers are set to stand on their feet for 46 hours to raise funds for Four Diamonds, an organization that supports pediatric cancer research and assists families affected by childhood cancer. Thousands of visitors are expected to attend the marathon, which annually raises millions of dollars to fight pediatric cancer.

Spectators are welcome to attend the event for free, entering through the general spectator line at the BJC’s ticketing office between Gates A and B. All attendees will receive a THON Weekend wristband, which must be worn inside the venue. Due to safety and capacity regulations, a digital line system will be used when the BJC reaches maximum occupancy, with updates available at THON.org.

A clear bag policy is in effect, allowing only clear tote bags up to 12”x12″x6”, one-gallon resealable bags, or small clutches. Prohibited items include backpacks, balloons, glitter, and outside food or drinks, though empty reusable water bottles are permitted.

THON 2025 also offers accessibility accommodations, including ADA entrances and seating for individuals with disabilities. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream of the event will be available at THON.org/livestream.

Since the end of “canning” — the practice of street corner donations — THON has focused on safer fundraising methods, including online campaigns. For more information, visit THON.org.
