The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) has opened applications for its Community Conservation Partnerships Program, offering grants to fund parks, recreation, and conservation projects. Applications are due April 2nd at 4:00 PM.
These grants align with the Shapiro Administration’s commitment to revitalizing communities and expanding outdoor recreation opportunities. In 2024, nearly $80 million supported 300 projects, including 25 new parks and protecting over 6,800 acres.

“These grants invest in what makes communities great: public health, safety, and wellness,” said DCNR Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn. “By improving parks, trails, and green spaces, we foster stronger, healthier communities and boost local economies.”
Eligible applicants include local governments and non-profit organizations. Grants fund:
- Park and recreation development and rehabilitation
- Recreation and conservation planning
- Trail planning and construction
- Land acquisition and conservation
- River access and conservation
- Community and streamside tree planting
Grant applications must be submitted through DCNR’s Grants Customer Service Portal. A tutorial video is available on DCNR’s YouTube channel.
“These grants help DCNR conserve and sustain Pennsylvania’s natural resources for future generations,” said Deputy Secretary Claire Jantz.
DCNR staff can assist with questions and application development. Potential applicants should contact a regional advisor before starting an application. Funding comes from multiple sources, including the Keystone Recreation, Park, and Conservation Fund, Environmental Stewardship Fund, and Land and Water Conservation Fund. Community Conservation Partnerships Program grants have helped protect over 435,000 acres across Pennsylvania.
