The Thomas Brothers Country Store, located at 4 S. Main Street in Biglerville, welcomed visitors for a soft opening over the past two weekends. The beloved historic store, filled with local charm and nostalgia, plans to open regularly Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., though it will close for the months of January and February.
Stepping inside feels like traveling back in time—the store still features its original cash register and shipping crate, and antique displays and historical photographs line the walls. While the museum portion isn’t open yet, the store currently offers a variety of locally made goods, including soap, T-shirts, seasonal décor, and, of course, their famous penny candy.

One of the Thomas sisters once joked, “It will take a lot of penny candy to build the library,” a reminder of the community spirit that continues to live on through the store. A grand opening celebration is planned for the future as the Thomas family continues to preserve and share this treasured piece of Biglerville’s history.
