Police seek Gettysburg BB&T Bank robbery suspect

The Gettysburg Police Department has reported that on Monday August 9, 2021, at approximately 1:08 p.m., officers were dispatched to BB&T Bank located at 29 N. Washington St. for a robbery that had just occurred.

A “heavy-set” White male wearing a hoodie with burgundy sleeves, with the word “Reebok” across the front, blue Jeans, black hat, and a black COVID face mask entered the bank, presented a note claiming to be armed, and demanded money.

The suspect fled the bank with an undetermined amount of cash through the doors facing Washington St. and was last seen running westbound in Racehorse Alley.

Multiple police agencies responded to assist including Cumberland Township Police, Pennsylvania State Police, the Gettysburg National Military Park Rangers, and the Pennsylvania State Game Commission.
