At the request of Nancy Lilley, I agreed to be a “book” for this year’s Adams County Library “Living Library” program, and I want to recommend the experience. Thinking through what life lessons and experiences are best worth sharing in my twenty minutes has been uplifting for me. And whichever “book” you might be interested to take out during the week of April 27th to May 3rd, the experience should be eye-opening for “readers” also.
My “book,” “Becoming a Better Ancestor,” is the story of what made me fall in love with every nation I have lived in (the US, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, and New Zealand), as well as with Planet Earth. Many of the presenters deal with experiences in other countries, as well as with what our life experiences have taught us.

Presenters and titles in this year’s “Living Library,” in the order linked below, are Martin & Angela Zimmann, “The Long and Winding Road;” Pamela Cooper-White, “The Spirit Moves in Unexpected Ways; Erica Duffy, “Living and Thriving with Bipolar Disorder: A Personal Journey;” Jeff Colvin, “An International Incident;” Marica Prozo, “The Path of No Return;” Wendy Allen, “Lincoln Into Art;” Leon Reed, “Remembering Washington When Things Worked;” Marann Jones, “For Jewels in My Crown;” Janet M. Powers, “Blossoms on the Olive Tree, Kites over the Mango Tree, Circles on the Mountain; and Judy Young, “Becoming a Better Ancestor.”
Additional details about each “book,” and the times and library branches where we are available to be “read,” are contained in the link below. Readers need to register for a time through this link. If time slots or presenters are taken, you may also be able to join a “waiting list,” for potential additional times.
Enjoy!
