Drawings, paintings, mixed media pieces, and collages by Gettysburg artist Jean Siderio will be on display in the Stahle Parlor of The Memorial Church of the Prince of Peace, Gettysburg’s Episcopal parish, now through the end of September. The church is located at 20 West High Street in Gettysburg.
Siderio’s artwork has appeared in juried art shows and has been displayed in multiple galleries. For twelve years, her artwork, using the name “Ask Alice Studio,” was consigned to A&A Village Treasures, recently closed, on Chambersburg Street. One of her assemblages was published in Shadow Boxes and Shrines, by Rockport Publishers of Gloucester, Mass, and her cartoons have been published by Montgomery Publishing of Jenkintown, Pa.
The artwork is open to the public during the parish’s hospitality hour at 11:30 a.m. Sundays. Refreshments are served, with free parking available in the rear of the church. The parish regularly features the work of local artists and artists with family connections to the Gettysburg area. Jean is a member of Prince of Peace and serves as the curator of the parish’s revolving art displays. She is also one of the principal artists of the parish’s extensive murals, based on biblical scenes and stories, in the church’s undercroft.
