Marking the Christmas season, parishioners at The Memorial Church of the Prince of Peace, Gettysburg’s Episcopal parish, donated slightly more than $1000 in Giant gift cards to patients at the WellSpan Adams Cancer Center.
Father Jim Strader-Strasser, Priest-in-Charge of Prince of Peace, presented the cards in an impromptu ceremony held at the Cancer Center on the morning of December 19. Accepting on behalf of the Center was Michelle Shriner, center director.

The presentation marked Prince of Peace’s renewal of an annual tradition of presenting gift cards to the center, which had not been conducted since the Covid-19 pandemic. Individual parishioners made donations during Advent, which took the form of stars hanging from the church’s Christmas tree. The stars were then converted into monetary donations, which were collected and used to purchase the gift cards.
