The Reverend Pamela Cooper-White, Ph.D., will discuss the psychology of Christian Nationalism at a public forum at Prince of Peace Episcopal Church at 4 p.m., Sunday, October 13. The event will be conducted at the church at 20 W. High Street in Gettysburg.
Admission is free, and off-street parking is available in the rear of the church.
The Rev Dr. Cooper-White will discuss aspects of the topic, including overcoming polarization in American Society, the extent of Christian Nationalism in America and its deep psychological roots, and ways to attempt to talk across the deep divides in American Society. The subject is the title of her most recent book, which was awarded the Indie, the independent publishers’ 2022 gold medal for social and political science. She is the author of ten books.
Cooper-White is an Episcopal priest and the Christiane Brooks Johnson Professor Emerita of Psychology and Religion, and Vice President Emerita for Academic Affairs, at Union Theological Seminary in New York. She has served as priest associate at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City, and is a frequent keynote speaker both nationally and internationally. She is a licensed psychotherapist. She lives in Orrtanna, with her spouse, The Rec. Michael Cooper-White.
