Adams County made history this election, achieving a record-breaking 79.71% voter turnout among its approximately 76,000 registered voters. This Presidential election saw enthusiasm across party lines, with voters taking full advantage of absentee, mail-in, and in-person options. Of the 19,000 mail-in ballot applications, an impressive 18,488 were returned, representing nearly 23% of the county’s electorate.
Election Day began with an extraordinary early-morning surge. Voters lined up as early as 6 AM, creating unprecedented queues at polling stations. Despite the initial rush, activity remained steady throughout the day, bolstered by clear skies and crisp fall weather.

The Adams County Election Board, led by the Board of Commissioners, proudly reported no significant disruptions or equipment malfunctions at the polls. While a few precincts experienced longer-than-usual lines, all ballots were processed smoothly, and final results were available by 11:30 PM.
“This success reflects the lessons we’ve learned from previous elections,” said Commissioner Randy Phiel. “By increasing staffing and resources, we ensured a seamless experience for voters.”
