Registration open for Emerge Youth program

Registration is underway for Emerge Youth, a faith-based wellness and personal development program for young women ages 10 to 13 in the Gettysburg area.

The 2026-27 program will begin Sept. 14 and continue through April 26, 2027, at Under The Horizon, 2650 Biglerville Road, Gettysburg. Registration is requested by Aug. 31, and organizers say limited spaces remain.

Emerge Youth grew out of a school-based pilot program held during the past school year. Participants explored topics including self-confidence, consistency, kindness, creativity, healthy habits, personal strengths and leadership.

Following the success of that program and related efforts, Emerge Youth is expanding into an in-house program designed to provide participants with continued mentorship, encouragement and a faith-centered foundation.

Sessions will be held on select Mondays from 5 to 5:40 p.m. Activities will include interactive lessons, discussions, movement, creative clay projects and other hands-on activities.

Topics throughout the program year will include identity and self-worth, confidence and resilience, healthy habits and wellness, leadership and character, purpose and personal growth, faith-based life skills, creativity and self-expression, and care for the body, mind and spirit.

Organizers said the program is designed to be cumulative, with lessons and activities building on previous sessions. Consistent attendance is encouraged, although occasional absences are expected. Once registered, participants are considered enrolled for the full program year, and families will be asked to provide a weekly RSVP through the program’s text-message system.

The cost is $20 per session, payable on the evening of the program. A 5% discount is available for families with more than one participant.
