Remembrance Day Illumination: Sponsor a Luminary Candle In Honor or Memory of a Loved One

Gettysburg, Pa. (Oct. 6, 2021)The Gettysburg Foundation presents the 19th Annual Remembrance Day Illumination on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the Gettysburg National Cemetery. The event is subject to weather conditions, health and safety.

The commemoration features a luminary candle on all 3,512 Civil War soldiers’ graves. The fallen soldiers’ names are read throughout the evening. Guests may enter the cemetery through the gate at Taneytown Road or the gate at Baltimore Street. This non-ticketed event is free of charge and open to the public.

Support the Gettysburg Foundation with a heartfelt donation for the 2021 Remembrance Day Illumination by sponsoring a candle in honor or memory of a loved one. A candle sponsorship is $18.63. Sponsorships will be accepted through Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021.

Volunteer opportunities include setting up, greeting guests, reading the names of Civil War soldiers and cleaning up.
