The Salvation Army needs volunteers to ring bells November 27 through December 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Gettysburg Walmart and on November 27, 28, and 29 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Showers Tree farm in Aspers.
Each time slot is 90 minutes long.
There is seating beside each kettle.
The money collected in the kettles is distributed locally to help with rent, utilities, heat, prescription medicine, car repairs, and other emergency needs on a case-by-case basis.
The hardships created by COVID make it critical that this year’s campaign be a success.
The kettle cannot stand outside by itself. Every slot must have at least one volunteer standing with the kettle.
