The second Annual Gettysburg LincCon – a comic and gaming convention – kicks off November 9 and 10. The 2-day event will feature artists, writers, panel discussions, gaming events, a cosplay contest, and vendors.
Special guests include Marvel and Valiant Legend Bob Layton, New Mutants co-creator Bob McLeod, Marvel artists Mike Hawthorne and Khoi Pham, Magic the Gathering artists Seb McKinnon and Scott Murphy, Kevin Porter of Bat in the Sun Productions, and many more.

Attendees can also jump into more gaming events than the previous year, with a Magic the Gathering Standard Mythic Qualifier, a Pokémon League Cup, a Smash Brothers video game tournament, and Dungeons & Dragons events throughout the weekend.
Since this year is a two-day event, a special showing of the Goonies will be presented at R/C Gateway Theater 8 as an after-convention activity to tie the two days together. Tickets to the show will be available to the community, but convention attendees will receive a special rate.
Art Sanchez Owner of Fourcorners Comics & Games, at 42 Baltimore St. in Gettysburg, says a comic convention can be a positive event that brings large groups of people together, “Comic conventions are the type of event that appeal to a large section of the community. More and more people are interested in pop culture and the success of Gettysburg LincCon will bring new people into our community at a time of the year that is typically not as busy,” said Sanchez.
Attendees of the LincCon will find an emphasis on inclusion. Monique Gore, Director of Multicultural Programming and Outreach for the Gettysburg College Office of Multicultural Engagement, says the goal of the LincCon is to “bring the campus and greater Gettysburg community together. What better way to bring different races, socioeconomic backgrounds, genders and cultures together than around comics?”
Large events can often be overwhelming to those with sensory issues, so a Sensory Breakroom will be available to any guest who needs a break from the crowds and noise. In addition, gender neutral restrooms will be posted. A consent campaign – Cosplay Does Note Equal Consent – will be in effect to educate attendees around proper cosplay etiquette.
Gettysburg LincCon is sponsored by Fourcorners Comics & Games and the Gettysburg College Office of Multicultural Engagement. Admission is $5 for the public and free for Gettysburg College students and children under 12.
