Three local organizations will share $93,880 in grants distributed by The Bernard, Mary and Richard Selby Family Memorial Fund, established to honor the late Dick Selby and his parents, Mary and Bernard.
The grants, awarded annually by the Adams County Community Foundation Fund for Littlestown, support Littlestown nonprofits helping to improve the community’s quality of life, according to a news release. The recipients are:

– Adams County Office for Aging, Littlestown Area Senior Center ($1,000): to support social programs focused on healthy eating.
– Adams County Habitat for Humanity ($5,000): to construct a duplex in Littlestown for two families.
– Littlestown Area Historical Society ($1,000): to add attractions during the 2024 celebration of Littlestown’s Good Ole Days.
– Littlestown Baseball/Softball for Youth ($2,000): to help repair and replace playing field fencing and backstops.
– New Hope Ministries ($5,000): to support emergency assistance with food, rent, utility bills and transportation.
– Ruth’s Harvest Littlestown ($5,000): to support the packages of healthy food that income-eligible K-8th grade students receive for the weekend, and items not usually available in the clothing bank, such as socks and undergarments.
The Thunderbolt Foundation ($50,000): a special naming opportunity grant, to name the main high school lobby, currently under construction, for the Selby Family.
The fund, established in 2019, has awarded $291,000 to local nonprofits. A news release noted that the grant distributions reflect the Community Foundation’s careful investment for long-term growth.
