Softball: Herd is out-hit but bests Warriors, 6-4.

Despite being outhit, 9-8, Carlisle defeated Gettysburg by a final of 6-4 on Wednesday in a game played at Carlisle. 

The first inning saw Carlisle take an early lead with two runs, but Gettysburg soon caught up, scoring two runs in the third inning to tie the game. However, the homesteading Thundering Herd took the lead again in the fourth inning, scoring three and going ahead by a 5-2 score.


Gettysburg tried to stage a comeback in the fifth inning, scoring two runs but Carlisle’s defense held strong and didn’t allow any more runs for the remainder of the game. Carlisle tacked on an insurance run in the third inning. 

For the visiting Warriors, Kate Keller had an outstanding performance, with three hits and a triple, while Aubry Forsythe had two hits and two RBIs.

Macy Barnhart led the way for Carlisle, with a pair of triples and scoring two runs. Alexis Kline had three hits and two RBIs.
