Gettysburg ran into a Lower Dauphin buzzsaw Wednesday afternoon as the Falcons breezed past the Warriors 17-0 in the shortened four-inning game.
Katelyn Stawser was the standout of a 12-hit Lower Dauphin attack, falling just a single short of hitting for the cycle. As it was, she racked up six RBIs on the strength of a double, triple, and a third-inning grand slam homer, part of a seven-run inning that effectively put the game out of reach.
Carissa Wenner held the Warriors scoreless and limited them to just three hits.
The Falcons set the tone early, scoring five in the first inning. Jules Wychunas and Morgan Sparks also contributed significantly to the team’s offensive success, with Wychunas going two-for-three with a double, two runs scored, and two RBIs, while Sparks added two hits, two runs scored, and two RBIs. The Falcons took advantage of six Gettysburg errors.
Gettysburg’s Abby Boblits had two of her team’s three hits; Aubry Forsythe had the other.
