Gettysburg Area High School’s annual Homecoming dance was held on Saturday at the High School cafeteria. Homecoming (HOCO) is led by Student Council (StuCo) and is one of their biggest fundraisers and also one of the biggest displays of school spirit.
At halftime at Friday evening’s homecoming football game, Sophia Willard and Max Carlson were named as homecoming Queen and King. Sophia is on the girls’ soccer team and does theater and Max is a part of the marching band and is also a part of theater.
Overall, around 600 students attend HOCO every year. This year, the HOCO Court was made up of seniors Emily Holtzople, Quaide Clarke, Lauren Spangler, Noah Bahm, Sophia Willard, Max Carlson, Ella Williams, Brady Heiser, Lily Arnold, and Adrian Ramierez.
Willard and Carlson were honored on Saturday night and shared a dance in the middle of a dance circle to commemorate their winning and celebrate their success.
Overall, student feedback has been positive regarding the dance with many saying it was a success and they had a great night.
