The Adams County Conservation District and the Watershed Alliance of Adams County are continuing their support of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Keystone 10 Million Trees Partnership and its goal of planting 10 million native trees and shrubs in Pennsylvania by 2025. Together, they’re striving to get native trees and shrubs into the hands of local partners who have the property and ability to get them planted. Visit our website for more information.
Seedling requests: For best results when choosing your seedlings, please begin by looking at the seedling and shrub information at adamswatersheds.com before you complete your request form. Be sure to choose species that will best suit your location and needs. Please note that the link to the request form will not go live until Saturday, March 22, at 9 a.m.
Once the Keystone 10 Million Trees team notifies us what seedlings they’ll actually be receiving from them, we’ll email you your confirmed seedling species list. Each seedling will come to you planted in a pot about the size of a one-liter soda bottle. Please note that while we make every effort to fulfill your requested species and amounts, due to availability and ordering stipulations, we cannot guarantee your exact request.
Seedling pickups: You can pick up your seedlings at the Adams County Agricultural and Natural Resources Center (the “Ag Center”), 670 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg, on these days only:
Thursday, April 10, 2 to 7 p.m.
Saturday, April 12, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Seedling “Tree for All”: On Saturday, April 12, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., any seedlings that were requested but not picked up will return to our inventory for people to pick up on a first-come, first-served basis. Note that at this point we’ll have only a very limited number of seedlings, but they are free for the taking!
Do you need a lot of trees? If your project requires a large number of trees and shrubs, please email Vy Trinh at vtrinh@adamscountypa.gov at the Adams County Conservation District. She may be able to help you reach your goal through other programs.
