Adams County’s Teen Angels program is once again spreading kindness this holiday season — and organizers are inviting community members to take part in bringing cheer to local teens and young adults in need.
The annual holiday outreach effort, coordinated through the County of Adams Independent Living Advisory Council, serves youth ages 14 to 22 who are involved with Adams County Children and Youth Services. Many of these teens might otherwise go without gifts or celebrations during the holidays.
Through Teen Angels, local sponsors are matched with individual youth and provided with gift suggestions to help ensure that every young person feels remembered and valued. Sponsors can be individuals, families, co-workers, churches, or community groups — anyone who wants to make a difference for a young person in Adams County.
Shopping for gifts begins in November, and organizers are encouraging new sponsors to sign up as soon as possible to ensure that every eligible youth is matched in time. Those interested can contact Sponsor Coordinator Teresa Polvinale by emailing teenangeloutreach@gmail.com for more information or to sign up.
By providing thoughtful gifts and personal touches, sponsors help brighten the season for local teens who are working toward independence and stability through county programs.
The Teen Angels team hopes more residents, organizations, and workplaces will step up this year to ensure that every youth on their list feels the warmth of community care.
