The Laughing Stalk Comedy Night Fundraiser to be held Friday, May 15, 2026

The Adams County Farmers Market (ACFM) invites the community to ‘get corny’ at The Laughing Stalk, a first of its kind comedy night fundraiser in partnership with Adams County Winery on Friday, May 15th at the Winery’s Orrtanna location, 251 Peach Tree Rd, with doors opening at 5:00 and the show to begin at 6:30. Tickets are just $20 and proceeds go to benefit the Adams County Farmers Market, a 501c(3) charitable nonprofit organization.

Headlining the event is acclaimed comedian and entertainer Carla Collins, who brings her signature blend of sharp wit, high-energy storytelling, and fearless humor to the stage. A Canadian Comedy Award winner and familiar face from television, podcasts, and international comedy festivals, Collins has built a reputation for captivating audiences with her bold and unapologetically funny performances.

Opening the show is local comedian and Special Projects Manager at Adams County Winery, Jordan Bigler, whose relatable storytelling and anecdotes from growing up in a rural community have made him a favorite with audiences across the region. “I’ve had the privilege of working with Carla in Los Angeles, and it’s a huge honor to have her coming to Gettysburg for a great show,” said Bigler. “There’s nothing better than a night of comedy set against a vineyard backdrop while supporting a good cause.”

Proceeds from The Laughing Stalk will help support ACFM’s community-driven programs, including food assistance resources that help ensure that lower-income members of the community have access to fresh, locally grown food. “This is an awesome comic pairing, and yes that is a wine pun,” said ACFM Market Manager Reza Djalal. “Carla is really the matriarch of wine mom energy and I know her set is going to crush.”

As the first standup comedy night fundraiser of its kind for ACFM, The Laughing Stalk represents a new and creative approach to community fundraising that aligns well with ACFM’s brand. “We really wanted to emphasize the ‘fun’ in fundraising,” continued Djalal.

Adams County Winery is the venue sponsor for this fundraising event and has generously donated the space at no cost. Wood fired pizzas and wine will be available for purchase from the Winery’s Bistro. Guests are encouraged to come early for pizza and wine before the entertainment begins at 6:30. Adams County Winery’s Orrtanna location has two parking lots for visitor convenience, and parking is free.

Community members are encouraged to purchase tickets early, as space is limited and more than half of the available tickets have been sold. Whether attending for the comedy, the cause, or the combination of both, The Laughing Stalk promises a night of laughter with a meaningful local impact.
