Totem Pole welcomes Flat Stanley

Totem Pole Playhouse is proud to announce the cast and creative team for The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, TYA (theater for your audiences), marking the launch of a new annual educational program designed specifically for elementary school audiences. It is produced by Gibbsology, LLC, and is based on the beloved children’s book. The musical story follows Stanley Lambchop, an ordinary boy who becomes extraordinary when a bulletin board flattens him, sending him on imaginative adventures that have delighted generations of young readers.

All cast and creative team members are local talent, highlighting Totem Pole Playhouse’s commitment to nurturing and showcasing artists from the community. The cast of The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, TYA features Charlie Wingert as Stanley, Taylor Whidden as Mrs. Cartero, Jovie Delgado as Samantha, Bailey Wennick as Mrs. Lambchop, Adam Shank as Mr. Lambchop, Ashton Ulmer as Arthur Lambchop, and Lily Snowberger as Bikini Wahini. All cast members, with the exception of Stanley, take on multiple roles throughout the production, showcasing their versatility and bringing Flat Stanley’s imaginative world to life. Notably, cast members Jovie Delgado and Lily Snowberger are high school students and proud alumni of Totem Pole’s popular summer camps.

The creative team includes Luke Reed as Director and Set/Props Designer, with Bailey Wennick also serving as Musical Director. Zoe Sheehan Moore is the Choreographer, Kate Wecker the Sound Designer/A1, and Sam Sims the Lighting Designer. Costumes are designed by Elizabeth Angelozzi, with production managed by Kia Armstrong and stage management by Rebecca Kleeman. Video design is provided by Brandon Zalar and Katie Jasmann, with Alex Armstrong as Stage Hand and Olivia Snowberger as ASM/Followspot.

For decades, Totem Pole has welcomed nearly 2,000 middle school students each year to its holiday programming through subsidized ticketing. With Flat Stanley, the Playhouse expands its educational mission by creating a dedicated program for younger audiences. This fall, more than 1,700 elementary school students will attend performances free of charge, with an additional 400 students attending at just 30% of the regular ticket price. This initiative is made possible through the generous support of the Thomas L Cline Foundation, Margaret Trew Cline Foundation, Sharon Trew Cline Magraw Foundation, Mary K. Bowman Fine Arts Fund, TFEC: Palmer Family Foundation Fund, TFEC: Franklin County Community Fund, TFEC: Arts for All.

Performance dates for school field trips include October 15th, 16th, and 17th at 10:00 AM at Totem Pole Playhouse in Fayetteville, PA, as well as October 21 at 10:00 AM at The Maryland Theatre in Hagerstown, MD. Thanks to generous community support, school group tickets are free (and currently sold out) at Totem Pole and $10 at The Maryland Theatre, making this an affordable theatre experience for students in grades K–5. Schools and homeschool groups interested in booking Maryland Theatre or joining the waitlist at Totem Pole are encouraged to call the box office today at 717-352-2164, option 1.

In addition, a special public performance will be held at Totem Pole Playhouse on Saturday, October 18 at 10:30 AM. While admission is free, reservations are required to secure a seat, and donations will be accepted at the door.

Flat Stanley will also mark the debut of Totem Pole’s brand-new 20’ x 12’ LED video wall, built from thousands of individual LEDs in 48 separate tiles. We’re so excited to bring this cutting-edge technology to the community, which will bring our productions to life like never before, making every scene bigger, brighter, and more magical for audiences of all ages. The video wall reality was created in partnership with 4Wall Entertainment, Penn State University Scene Shop, Chris Russo, and Totem Pole Playhouse. It will serve as a centerpiece for Totem Pole productions moving forward. This innovative system is generously sponsored by the J. William Warehime Foundation, the Alexander Stewart, M.D. Foundation, and the Sharon T. Cline Foundation.

Tickets for the public performance are available at www.totempoleplayhouse.org or by calling the Box Office at 717-352-2164. Tickets for school groups can be purchased by calling the Box Office.
