In Mercersburg yesterday, Gettysburg and James Buchanan High School split a dual track meet, with Gettysburg boys securing a decisive 108-42 victory and James Buchanan girls winning 82-68 against their Gettysburg counterparts.
The Gettysburg boys put on a stellar show, with Gabe Pecaitis taking first place in Pole Vault with an impressive 14-3. Wyatt Heistand followed suit, securing the top spot in Shot Put with a throw of 46-11.5. Adding to their winning streak, Landon Keefer dashed to first place in the 100m Dash with a time of 11.2 seconds.
The Gettysburg girls also displayed exceptional talent, with Lily Bannak achieving first place in the 300m Hurdles with a time of 50.2 seconds. Alexis Mathias raced to victory in the 100m Dash, clocking in at 13.2 seconds. The 1600 Meter Relay team consisting of Rebekah Reaver, Megan Hurst, Lily Bannak, and Kathryn Swartz claimed first place with a time of 4:37.5.
