
de>LANCASTER, Pa. Sophomore Shannon Twill (Warren, N.J./Watchung Hills) was named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Year for the second time this spring.
Twill recorded double-figure saves for the second time in three games as No. 5 Gettysburg knocked off Dickinson 17-5. Twill totaled 10 saves and two ground balls and a 66.7% save percentage in the victory with eight of those saves coming as part of a game-ending 13-1 run by the Bullets. Gettysburg held Dickinson scoreless over the final 21 minutes.
In three games this season, Twill has recorded a 5.20 goals against average and .639 save percentage. She was named the CC Defender of the Week following Gettysburg’s opening-season win over Washington College.
Gettysburg (3-0), ranked fifth in the latest national poll, hosts Ursinus College this Saturday, April 10, at 1 p.m. No fans will be allowed at athletic contests hosted by Centennial Conference institutions this spring. All home lacrosse games at Gettysburg will be streamed live and feature live in-game statistics.
