Waldo’s & Company, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is proud to announce the launch of a new scholarship program, made possible by the generous support of the Sharon Trew Cline Magraw Foundation, the Adams County Community Foundation’s Helen Shields Hafer Memorial Fund, and Waldo’s dedicated donors.
Additionally, Waldo’s is excited to collaborate with WellSpan’s Healthy Adams County initiative, emphasizing the importance of arts access as a key component of community well-being and engagement.
This scholarship program will provide low-income and underrepresented residents of Adams County with free access to Waldo’s art facilities, including painting, ceramics, printmaking, and photography trade shops. The program is designed to benefit working artists, healthcare workers, service workers, educators, and other community members by removing financial barriers and making art experiences more inclusive and accessible.
“By reducing financial barriers, we are able to open our doors wider and welcome more people to share in the experience of creating art together, which is central to our mission,” said Wendy Halperin, Executive Director of Waldo’s & Company.
Waldo’s & Company is currently accepting scholarship applications, and interested community members can apply immediately.
Dedicated to enriching the Gettysburg community, Waldo’s provides a framework where artists, musicians, and creatives can cultivate, practice, and showcase their work. The organization offers low-cost studios, community arts resources, classrooms, an art gallery, a music venue, and a donation only coffee/soda bar.
