The Gettysburg Area School District is hosting Warrior Wellness Night, a community event focused on promoting healthy living through nutrition and exercise. Taking place at Gettysburg Area Middle School on April 9 from 5 to 7:30 PM, the event offers a variety of interactive activities for all ages.
Through the ” Local Farm to School ” initiative, attendees can sample fresh, local produce from Hollabaugh Bros., Inc. and Mud College Farm. Those curious about school meals can enjoy “Cafeteria Classics,” featuring favorite dishes from past and present menus. Families will also get a chance to learn easy, delicious meal ideas through “Cena di Famiglia,” a live cooking demonstration by the district’s nutrition team.
For those looking to get active, the event offers 30-minute yoga sessions with instructor Alli Crowell and high-energy line dancing and jazzercise sessions. In the main gym, participants can rotate between pickleball, basketball, and an obstacle course.
Local organizations such as Healthy Adams County, SCCAP – The Gleaning Project, the Early Learning Resource Center, and Ruth’s Harvest will be on-site providing valuable health and family services information.
