Phillies 2, Tigers 0
Cristopher Sánchez delivered a masterful performance, pitching eight shutout innings—allowing just five hits, with six strikeouts—to lead Philadelphia to a 2–0 victory over the Detroit Tigers. Jhoan Durán closed things out with his newly acquired high‑velocity 102 mph fastball for his 18th save. Kyle Schwarber provided the lone power on offense, launching his 38th homer in the eighth inning. A Max Kepler groundout in the second inning scored the Phillies’ first run. With the win, Philadelphia regained first place in the NL East, edging the Mets by a half-game.
Pirates 9, Rockies 5
After a wild 17–16 loss in Friday’s opener and an 8–5 defeat Saturday, Pittsburgh rebounded on Sunday to hand the Rockies a 9–5 loss in Colorado. Oneil Cruz’s grand slam and Andrew McCutchen’s five RBIs helped power the Pirates, who battled back effectively in Game 3 of the weekend series after their previous collapse.
Brewers 14, Nationals 3
Milwaukee completed a dominant sweep of the Nationals with a 14–3 victory. Brice Turang hit two home runs and drove in four runs. The Brewers amassed 56 hits across the three-game set.
Cubs 5, Orioles 3
Justin Turner’s pinch-hit two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning Sunday afternoon gave the Cubs the win.
