Adams County nonprofit organizations have until July 31 to apply for the first round of WellSpan Health’s INSPIRE Community Grant program, which provides funding for projects aimed at improving community health.
WellSpan is accepting pre-applications for grants that will support projects beginning Jan. 1, 2027. The pre-application, formerly known as a Letter of Interest, is used to determine which organizations will be invited to submit a full grant application.
The INSPIRE Community Grant program funds projects that address priorities identified through WellSpan’s Community Health Needs Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan. Eligible proposals include new programs, expansions of existing initiatives, and one-time seed or gap funding for projects with measurable community impact. The grants are not intended to provide ongoing operating support.
Grant awards typically average less than $25,000, although requests of up to $50,000 will be considered.
Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations serving Adams, Cumberland, Lancaster, Lebanon and York counties, as well as WellSpan’s North Region, which includes Lycoming, Northumberland, Snyder and Union counties. Individuals, for-profit organizations and groups located outside WellSpan’s service area are not eligible.
Organizations in Cumberland County, Franklin County and the Shippensburg area will have an opportunity to apply for Summit Endowment grants, which WellSpan said will be announced in the coming months.
Pre-applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. July 31.
WellSpan encourages prospective applicants to discuss project ideas with its Community Health and Grants team. Questions about the application process or grant program may be directed to [communitygrants@wellspan.org](mailto:communitygrants@wellspan.org).
