WellSpan Health is deepening its investment in community health with a \$3.5 million commitment over three years to support 12 independent, mission-driven organizations working to address housing challenges across central Pennsylvania. This marks WellSpan’s largest grant investment in housing to date and is expected to impact nearly 45,000 residents.
Through its flagship Imagine grants, WellSpan will distribute $3 million among four organizations—including South Central Community Action Programs (SCCAP)—to drive systemic change and housing innovation. SCCAP’s regional initiative, targeting Adams and Franklin counties, will focus on coalition building, policy advocacy, strategic partnerships, and innovative solutions like down payment assistance and pilot housing projects. The program aims to ensure that 80% of participating households maintain stable housing long term.
Other Imagine recipients include LifePath Christian Ministries, Lebanon County Christian Ministries (LCCM), and Transitions of PA. Each will receive $750,000 to execute comprehensive housing strategies ranging from service co-location and shelter expansion to survivor-focused stability programs.
An additional $333,200 in Inspire grants is being awarded to seven organizations to support localized housing efforts. These include affordable housing development, emergency assistance, and shelter services across Adams, Cumberland, Lancaster, Lebanon, Union, and York counties. Separately, York Habitat for Humanity will receive a $200,000 grant for the next phase of its Chestnut Street Revitalization project.
