The 2025 Wimbledon Championships have moved into their second week, with half the quarterfinal spots locked in after Sunday’s action at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
In the men’s draw, top seeds are showing their strength. No. 1 Jannik Sinner has yet to drop a set or even lose a service game, and he will meet No. 19 Grigor Dimitrov in the fourth round Monday. No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz survived an early scare from Andrey Rublev, rallying after losing the first set in a tiebreak to win in four sets. Alcaraz, aiming for a third consecutive Wimbledon title, now faces Britain’s Cameron Norrie in the quarterfinals.
No. 6 Novak Djokovic, chasing his record-extending eighth Wimbledon crown and 25th Grand Slam, is also through to the second week and will meet No. 11 Alex de Minaur. American men are making a rare deep run: No. 5 Taylor Fritz advanced to the quarterfinals Sunday, while No. 10 Ben Shelton will try to join him when he plays Lorenzo Sonego Monday. No American man has won Wimbledon since Pete Sampras in 2000.
On the women’s side, No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka remains the only top-five seed to reach the second week. She defeated Elise Mertens in straight sets to secure her quarterfinal place. Veteran Laura Siegemund, 37, continues her surprise run after ousting Solana Sierra. Americans Amanda Anisimova and No. 10 Emma Navarro are still in contention, with Navarro facing No. 7 Mirra Andreeva in the fourth round.
Play resumes today, with Sinner, Djokovic, Shelton, Navarro, and other contenders all on court as the tournament heads into its decisive stretch.
