Winning artists at HGAC’s 16th annual BarnArt Show and Sale

Art and barn lovers packed the G.A.R. hall at 53 E. Middle Street in Gettysburg for the opening night reception on June 7 for Historic Gettysburg Adams County’s BarnArt Show and Sale. Winners were announced in both fine art and photography categories, as judged by artist Paul Gallo, a member of the “Seven Lively Artists” group in Harrisburg.

And the winners are…

For fine art:

First place went to Mary Moores of Abbottstown, for her pastel painting “Heaven’s Gate” This is the second time Mary has won first place at the BarnArt Show.

Second place went to Joan Chandon of Gettysburg, for her painting “Bridge.”

For photography: 

First place was awarded to Andrew Muenzfeld of Gettysburg, for his photograph “Farmstead.” 

Second place went to Erin Pearce of Littlestown, for her photograph “After the Storm.”

The People’s Choice award went to Pat Koziski of Gettysburg, for her painting “Barn at Maring Heritage Farm.” Attendees at the open night vote for this award

The Artists’ Choice award went to Christine Myers of Gettysburg, for her painting “Snowy Day.” Participating artists at the show vote for this award.

In addition, a painting of the Klingel Barn by Harrisburg artist Steve Wetzel was raffled off at the show. The raffle winner was Matt Sentz

Every artwork in the HGAC exhibit depicted a barn or a detail of a barn. Proceeds from the BarnArt Show benefit HGAC’s Barn Preservation Project and Grant Program, which funds grants to barn owners in Adams County to make needed repairs
