The Woman’s Club of Gettysburg has been in existence since 1921. Throughout this time, its objective has been to unite the influence and interests of the women of Gettysburg and vicinity and to promote the civic, educational, moral, and social welfare of the community with special attention to the problems of childhood and youth.
During the course of each year, the Woman’s Club has several scholarship fundraisers. The Woman’s Club offers three scholarships of $1,000 each to Adams County senior class members who are planning to attend a two-year course of study in a vocational or technical institution. Applications are available at the school guidance counselor’s office. The completed application can be returned to the guidance counselor by April 15, 2025.
The Club also donates to community non-profits each year. This year, John’s Meals, Gettysburg C.A.R.E.S, Adams County Rescue Mission, and Gettysburg Community Soup Kitchen received $500.00 each.
Members meet on the second Wednesday of the month, October through May, at Hoss’s Steak and Seafood House in Gettysburg at 11:30 a.m. Each month, the Club has a program speaker. April’s program speaker is Bill Hudson, Executive Director of the Adams Couty Rescue Mission.
