The Gettysburg College women’s basketball team remained ranked among the top teams in Division III for the fifth consecutive week according to polls released by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and D3hoops.com.
Both polls dropped the Bullets three spots following the team’s first loss in over two months last Saturday against Haverford College. The team was selected 19th in the WBCA poll, while grabbing the No. 22 spot in the D3hoops ballot.
Gettysburg set a Centennial Conference and program record with 19 consecutive wins. That streak was stopped by Haverford with a 54-51 decision on Saturday. Haverford received votes in each national poll released this week. The two teams have met in the CC Championship game in each of the last two seasons with the Bullets winning in 2018 and the Fords in 2019.
Tufts University (22-0), Hope College (21-0), and DePauw University (21-1) were the top three teams in both national polls.
Gettysburg (19-2, 15-1 CC) continues its quest for the conference’s top playoff seed this week beginning with a home match up against McDaniel College (9-12, 5-11 CC) on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
