The 17th-ranked Gettysburg College (17-1, 13-0 CC) women’s basketball team tied the program record with 17-straight wins as they topped Centennial Conference foe Franklin & Marshall College (6-12, 4-9 CC) on the road Wednesday night, 71-53.

First Quarter
- F&M started the frame with a 7-2 run, but a three-pointer by Gehrin and a jumper by Hahner tied the game at 7-all. Gettysburg held the edge until back-to-back buckets by F&M’s Kristin Hamill tied the game again at 11-11. The Orange and Blue never trailed again and closed the frame with a 6-2 stretch.

Second Quarter
- The momentum continued in Gettysburg’s favor, out-scoring the Diplomats a whopping 18-4, which was F&M’s lowest-scoring quarter total. The advantage grew to double-digits off a jumper by Cesareo, and it ballooned to 18 at the half. The Bullets shot 50 percent (6-of-12) from the field and 75 percent (6-of-8) from the free throw line.

Third Quarter
- The Diplomats jumped into the second half by netting six-straight points and out-scoring the Bullets 16-12 in the frame, but the hosts never came closer than 12 points. Cesareo, sophomore Mackenzie Tinner (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock High School North), Gehrin, and Hahner combined to score Gettysburg’s 12 points.

Fourth Quarter
- Gettysburg could not be stopped in the fourth quarter shooting 8-of-15 (53.3 percent). Sophomore Carly Rice (Pennington, N.J./The Pennington School), who ties the CC in three-point percentage, sank a trey with 1:51 on the clock to extend the Bullets lead to 20-points, which was the largest of the night.
By the Numbers
- Gettysburg moved three spots in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Associations (WBCA) Top 25 Poll, ranking No. 17 while staying at No. 22 in the D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll.
- Since falling to then-ranked No. 10 Messiah College in the season opener, the Bullets have won the last 17, which ties the program mark at 17-straight, set by 1984-85 team.
- Gettysburg remains at the top of the CC standings with Haverford College (13-3, 10-1 CC) in second, Johns Hopkins University (11-6, 8-4 CC) in third, and Swarthmore College (10-7, 7-5 CC) in fourth.
- Gettysburg concluded the game by shooting 47.5 percent (28-of-59) from the field, 12-of-16 (75 percent) from the free throw line, and made three treys.
- The Bullets held the Diplomats below 29 percent from the floor, and F&M went 11-of-17 (64.7 percent) from the charity stripe.
- F&M, the league’s leader in rebounds per game, grabbed 46 to Gettysburg’s 40.
- Gehrin accumulated her fourth double-double and her fifth 20-point plus effort of the season. She now needs 44 more points to crack the top 10-scoring list in Gettysburg women’s basketball history.

The Bullets have won the last 15 meetings against the Diplomats. The last time F&M defeated Gettysburg was back on Feb. 8, 2012, by the final score of 51-48.
