How It Happened…

  • First Quarter

    • Back-to-back three-pointers by Cesareo helped steamroll the Bullets into an unbelievable first quarter shooting performance. The Bullets were firing on all cylinders, shooting an astonishing 62.5 percent (10-of-16) from the field and 80 percent (5-of-6) from beyond the arc, while Dickinson only made two baskets. Six different players scored for the Bullets as they went into the second quarter ahead, 25-6.
  • Second Quarter

    • After shooting below 17 percent in the first quarter, Mila Kolb helped Dickinson turn it around offensively in the second, netting 10 of her game-high 16 points, while the team made 8-of-17 (47.1 percent) from the floor. The hosts out-scored Gettysburg 21-13, but the Bullets held a double-digit scoring edge throughout the frame.
  • Third Quarter

    • The Red Devils knocked down back-to-back buckets in the opening minutes to slice the deficit down to nine points. Gehrin then drove to the basket for a lay-up on the next possession to bring Gettysburg back into a double-digit scoring edge that propelled into a 6-1 run. Dickinson closed the quarter out-scoring Gettysburg 9-2 to come within seven heading into the final quarter.
  • Fourth Quarter

    • The Red Devils fired their way back as they slimmed the margin down to four (51-47) after holding the Bullets to four points in the opening five minutes. A trey by sophomore Carly Rice (Pennington, N.J./The Pennington School) and a pair of made free throws by Gehrin increased the lead back to nine with 3:16 to go. Five points in 41 seconds pulled the Red Devils back within six with 50 seconds remaining, but the Bullets sank four free throws at the charity stripe to seal the deal.
