D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll

GETTYSBURG, Pa The Gettysburg College women’s basketball team earned its second consecutive national ranking, jumping four spots in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25 poll, and cracked into the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Top 25 Coaches Poll.
After being ranked 23rd in last week’s D3hoops.com poll, the Bullets moved to 19th after defeating the reigning Centennial Conference Champions Haverford College this past Saturday. The Bullets won 50-26 at the Fords, holding the host team to its lowest shooting performance of the season. With the victory, Gettysburg is on a seven-game winning streak. The Orange and Blue also earned its first ranking in the WBCA, taking the No. 25 spot.
As a team, Gettysburg ranks first in the conference in defensive rebounds per game (32.3) and field goal percentage (38.9). Nationally, the Orange and Blue rank 25th in defensive rebounds per game. The Bullets are the only remaining team with an undefeated conference record.
Hope College (9-0) and Whitman College (9-0) remain ranked as the No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, while John Carroll University (7-0) moved into the No. 3 spot after being ranked No. 4 last week in the D3hoops.com poll. In the WBCA poll, Hope and Whitman are the top two, while Amherst College (7-0) is ranked at No. 3.
Gettysburg will return to the court on Dec. 29 when they face Catholic University in the Stevens Holiday Tournament in Hoboken, N.J. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
