How It Happened…

  • First Quarter

    • The opening quarter remained close for the first several minutes until Gehrin helped get the offensive groove rolling midway through. The senior guard knocked down five straight to power Gettysburg to a 13-2 spurt, which pushed the Bullets to lead by 10 with 2:19 on the clock. The Red Devils then fired a 7-1 run to come within four heading into the second quarter.
    • Gehrin poured out 12 of her game-high 25 points with Brown adding nine as the team shot a fantastic 72.7 percent (8-of-11) from the floor.
  • Second Quarter

    • Dickinson opened the quarter on an 18-6 run, including draining four from beyond the arc to pull in front 38-30 with under five to go. The Red Devils out-scored the Bullets 25-15 in the second quarter en route to holding a 45-39 advantage at intermission.
  • Third Quarter

    • Nearly the first three minutes of the quarter was scoreless until Brown broke that streak at the 7:13 marker and helped propel the Bullets into an 8-5 run, slicing the deficit down to three. Gehrin closed the quarter by netting the last four points to help the Bullets come within four heading into the final frame.
  • Fourth Quarter

    • A lay-up by sophomore Avery Bennett (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) allowed the Bullets to roll on a 9-5 run, which was capped by a lay-up by Gehrin to tie the game at 61-all. The Red Devils brought themselves back on top by reeling an 8-2 run to make it 69-63 with under 3:20 remaining. Back-to-back lay-ups by Brown cut the deficit down to three with 33 seconds to go. From that moment on, the rest of the points from the Red Devils came from the free throw line, sinking eight to seal the victory.
