COCKEYSVILLE, Md. – Junior Amy Cantrell (Hailey, Idaho/Wood River) placed 31st among 93 runners to lead the Gettysburg College women’s cross country team at the highly-competitive Centennial Conference Championship on Saturday at the Center for Maryland Agriculture and Farm Park in Cockeysville, Md.

The Finish Line

  • The Bullets posted a team score of 176 to finish seventh in a 10-team field that featured three nationally-ranked teams.
  • Johns Hopkins University, the top-ranked team in Division III, won the conference title with a score of 26. No. 10 Dickinson College came in second with 64 points, and No. 28 Haverford College took third with 97 points to round out the top three teams.
  • Isabel Cardi of Dickinson won the individual title by nine seconds, covering the 6,000-meter course in 21:48.
  • Cantrell was timed at 24:49 on the muddy course with a 6:40 mile pace for Gettysburg, placing three spots higher than the 2019 conference championship.
  • Senior Kate O’Brien (Lynchburg, Va./Virginia Episcopal School) was the next Bullet to cross the finish line, taking 34th with a 25:03 time, improving 11 spots higher from the 2019 conference race. Right behind O’Brien was junior Amanda Addesso (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire), who finished 35th, clocking 25:03.
  • Completing the team scoring were freshman Emily Trout (Ocean View, Del./Sussex Academy), who came in 55th in 25:53, and sophomore Claira Royce (Canton, N.Y./Hugh C. Williams), who was 58th in 26:04. It was the first time competing in the conference race for both Trout and Royce.  
  • Finishing as displacers were junior Rachel Nori (Avon, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe), who ran a season-best time of 26:40, and senior Ashlyn Booher (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs), who came in 68th in 26:52.

The Bullets return to action on Nov. 13 at the NCAA Division III Regional, hosted by Dickinson at Big Spring High School in Newville, PA.
