Meet Highlights

  • Gettysburg and Swarthmore featured seven of the eight swimmers in the finals of the 500 free. The Garnet’s Anna Lyn led by just over a second through 200 yards before adding another second over the next 100. Wojnar closed the gap slightly, but Lyn finished strong to claim the event with a time of 5:01.75. Wojnar finished in 5:05.16 to grab the silver, while freshman Lauren Manning (West Hartford, Conn./Conard) logged the fifth-fastest time in program history (5:05.69) to grab bronze. Junior Katherine Sears (Glenmoore, Pa./Downingtown West) finished fifth for the second consecutive season with a time of 5:12.05.
  • The 200 IM featured an exciting consolation final as freshman Annabel Gorman (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) edged out Swarthmore’s Gabby Ma by 0.73 seconds with a time of 2:12.24 to place ninth overall. Moss turned in Gettysburg’s first gold of the day in the championship heat. The first-year posted the top time in the prelims and blew away the field during the breaststroke leg to become Gettysburg’s first 200 IM winner since Caroline Coolidge ’13 in 2011. Moss’s time of 2:09.79 was second in program history behind only Liz Janelle ’03 (2:09.14). Senior Katie Idank (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) also improved her prelim time, finishing fourth in 2:12.29.
  • After posting top-five finishes in the 50 free in each of her first three campaigns, including a runner-up showing in 2018, Crilly finally brought home gold with a record-breaking performance. In the prelims, the senior demolished her own program record by 0.38 seconds with an NCAA “B” cut time of 23.65. She wasn’t quite as fast in the final, but still cruised to the wall well ahead of the pack at 23.80. Crilly was Gettysburg’s first 50 free champ since Maggie Mulderrig ’11 in 2011. Cooper and classmate Cate Kosko (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury East) also posted personal bests in the finals, the former tying for third at 24.14 and the latter winning the consolation final in 24.28. Those times rank third and fifth, respectively, in program history.
  • The Bullets capped the meet with another record-breaking performance in a relay race. After setting the 200 medley relay record Thursday night, the 400 medley relay mark went down as Wasson, Moss, Clancy, and Crilly surged past Swarthmore with a time of 3:52.71, breaking the old program mark set four years ago. Moss put the Bullets ahead to stay with her breaststroke split and Crilly sealed the win and her fifth relay record at Gettysburg.
