
LANCASTER, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women’s tennis team (2-5) closed out the regular season with a 9-0 loss at Franklin and Marshall College (4-3) on Saturday.

Gettysburg fell behind quickly with a sweep in doubles play at the hands of Franklin & Marshall. Junior Alexis Rinker (Prince Frederick, Md./Calvert) and freshman Tierney Cantwell (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) fell just short at second doubles, dropping an 8-6 decision to Hayley Bidwell and Alex D’Angelo.
Rinker and freshman Gillian Rozenfeld (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) led the Bullets with six and three points, respectively, in singles play, the former falling 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 and the latter dropping a 6-2, 6-1 decision at No. 1.
Where the Series Stands Now
Franklin and Marshall has won nine of the last 10 matches against Gettysburg. The Diplomats lead the all-time series 36-16.
