Women’s Track: Women’s Track & Field Competes at Alvernia

READING, Pa. – Freshman Lauren DiOttavio (Romansville, Pa./Downingtown West Campus) moved into second all-time in Bullets indoor history to lead the Gettysburg College women’s track and field team at the non-scoring Alvernia Winter Invite on Saturday.

Gettysburg’s Top Performers

  • Lauren DiOttavio ’25

    • 60-Meter Dash: 9th (8.26 – second in program history)
    • 200-Meter Dash: 10th (27.92)

Meet Highlights

  • In her first collegiate meet, DiOttavio had an outstanding day as she clocked 8.26 to register ninth overall in the 60-meter dash. With her time, she now ranks second all-time in program history. She also competed in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.92 to take tenth place.
  • In the 3,000-meter run, senior Kathrin O’Brien (Lynchburg, Va./Virginia Episcopal School) claimed ninth-place, clocking 11:33.22.
  • Senior Jess Alessi (Nassau, N.Y./Ichabod Crane) finished ninth in the weight throw, heaving 40’0.75″ among 30 competitors.
  • In her first season on the track and field team, sophomore Giovanna Komst (Londonderry, N.H./Londonderry) gathered a ninth-place showing in the shot put, tossing 33’1″ out of over 36 competitors.   
  • Sophomore Alexa Schauder (Cedar Knolls, N.J./Whippany Park) tied for 12th place in the high jump with a 4’7″ mark.
  • In the pole vault, junior Cassidy Callahan (Fitchburg, Mass./Oakmont Regional) took 14th with a mark of 8’6.25″.

Coming Up

Gettysburg will travel to Lancaster for the Franklin & Marshall Little Dip Invitational on Friday, January 28.
